Making investing accessible for everyone

2020 - 2021

The story

When I joined The Many, I was tasked with completing both a platform rebuild and an unfinished rebrand. The Danish fintech startup was democratizing alternative investments – allowing users to invest in real estate and renewable energy from DKK 100 instead of the typical 750k minimum.

The Design Challenge

I inherited a 75% complete brand identity with minimal handover documentation while the investment platform required a complete UX overhaul to meet Danish Financial Supervisory Authority compliance standards for first-time investors.

Product Design Process

Without existing user research, I conducted stakeholder interviews and created user personas for first-time investors. I worked closely with the development team which was crucial given the platform's regulatory complexity. This iterative approach led to more realistic design solutions that could actually be built within our timelines while maintaining the user experience quality.

Brand design execution

Brand work included completing the visual identity, designing the website, and creating marketing materials across print and digital channels. Video storytelling was key to connecting with everyday investors. We created engaging content focusing on real people making their first investments, using social media to transform complex financial concepts into accessible stories that built trust with our target audience.

Impact and key learnings

The completed platform successfully onboarded thousands of first-time investors while the integrated brand strategy positioned The Many as an approachable yet professional fintech player in the Danish market.

Managing both product and brand design was demanding but showed how these disciplines directly feed into each other.
